May 28 | Anthro Closet Chaos: Take Action Duo

The collaborative effort between me and Laura of Anthro Closet Chaos closes with the “Take Action Duo” shoot. You can view part one here and part two here. We wanted to surprise our internet audience by doing a shoot where both of us are in front of the camera. Our idea was to have a “Bonnie & Clyde” shoot since our dress is named “Take Action” and we had the vintage limo and antique hand guns at our disposal! Whoo hoo!

These images were shot with Laura’s Olympus dslr. The shots were triggered with a remote on a 2 second wait time. Pretty cool right? The pop-up flash on the camera covered a good distance. The camera was set up on Laura’s tripod in the front of the car about 2-3′ in front of us.

These next few shots were tough on us because we wanted to act like we were fighting. We tried to give each other mean faces…we really did.But we just ended up smiling in the shots! LOL.This was funny, we’re both trying to be rough and tough. We sort of accomplished it. But we’re both really sweet, it’s hard to pretend to be a gangster when really we’re both angels. 😛Until next time…yes we’re already planning on another collaborative effort towards the end of the year.

May 28 | Anthro Closet Chaos : 101 Ovations

Part two of the collaborative effort between myself and Laura from Anthro Closet Chaos. You can find part one here.

Next up we have the second outfit that I styled for Laura. The name of the dress is “101 Ovations” by Rebecca Taylor. This dress arrived the day I first met Laura. While going through her closet to pick out outfits, Laura said that UPS had delivered a dress she had ordered online and that she may consider wearing it for our shoot. Well, after she put it on and seeing how beautifully it fit her, we decided that would be the second outfit. I love this outfit too. It’s classic with the addition of the hair clip as a brooch, and modern with the gorgeous red shoes! I heart those shoes. I wish european sizes fit me. But enough of my longing, onto the pictures!

May 28 | Anthro Closet Chaos : Mompos

This was a dream come true! As all of you know I love fashion, and my favorite store is Anthropologie. I contacted Laura of Anthro Closet Chaos and asked if she would want to collaborate on a shoot together. I told Laura that I wanted to shoot her and style her and in return she would receive high resolution images for her to post on her blog. I didn’t expect an email back from Laura with an ecstatic “YES!”.

I arrived at Laura’s house and was amazed at our instant chemistry. It was as if we knew each other for longer than we had. I am definitely in love with Laura’s closet. No, not in love. Infatuated with her closet. She owns items that I’ve always wanted to get, but never could pull the trigger. I had so much fun going through her Anthropologie inventory and putting two outfits together.

We  woke up very early the next day and got started on our shoot in the part of Bakersfield that I have never been to. The Kern River runs along this part of the city and the beautifully manicured lawns and estate homes are to die for! First up is the “Mompos” dress by Tracy Reese styled by yours truly.

Isn’t she adorable? The first thing I uttered when I stepped through her front door was “You’re so cute!”Look how tiny her waist is! Laura is definitely in great shape.

May 22 | Sarah

I remember the time I was a senior in high school and was about to graduate. It was the best feeling of my life. A time where I could grow up, be independent and start working. Finally being able to leave behind the immature high school drama and start living the adult life and making my own decisions. Harmony invited me on a senior portrait session with her friend, Sarah, who was about to graduate in a few weeks. Sarah is another natural beauty with gorgeous blue eyes. They look green here, but they’re actually blue.

It was an overcast day the entire day, but thankfully the sun made a few cameo appearances to help us out.Backlighting is gorgeous isn’t it?We had so much fun trying to recognize the odd smells in this run down alley. Chinese food? Fried fish? What is it?As we were walking around, Harmony found this awesome door. Originally Sarah was wearing a honey colored leather bomber jacket, but I had to get her to take it off. I knew I wanted a more Calvin Klein-esque (yes I made that up), sexy, relaxed portrait with this wood door.
These are my favorite shots of the day. Although my style is dreamy, light and bright, I also love the more emotional, dark, high contrast images too. These two pictures below represent my other side perfectly.

Sarah was the brave soul. I asked Sarah to get up on that 5″ wide ledge. Being as lean as she is, she had no problem with that.
